Impromtu Photo Shoot

For the last week, we’ve had the most bizarre weather. It goes from being clear to snowing to raining to icing. Yesterday morning was no exception. We woke up to 3-4 more inches of snow to contend with and then less than an hour before having to take the girls to dance, it started snowing/icing. So Joe offered to drive us (usually I take the girls by myself) so I took him up on it. He took the opportunity to bring along the camera. While I had the girls at dance, he took Nate to Keene State and took some photos. These pics are my new favorites of Nate. I commented on my last post that it’s so hard to get a nice natural smile out of him so I was beyond thrilled when I saw how well Joe had done!! So all props go to him for taking these gorgeous photos! (I did do all the post processing though! )

Oh and while I LOVE the new blog layout for photos (one large photo with thumbmails below), there are some instances where I’ll still be posting picture by picture. It takes much longer to load but it’s SO worth the wait to see them all in a larger size. So bear with the loading time…

Christmas Photos 2009

Typically we have our Christmas photos taken the weekend of Thanksgiving or before so I have enough time to get them designed and ordered. This year we decided to use our family beach photo on our Christmas card instead so we weren’t in a rush to do our Christmas pics. Well, we waited until practically the last possible minute to get them done but I think they turned out great. Some minor issues from our Drama Queen (Alexis) but all in all, they’re awesome. Hold tight – LOTS of photos today!

I tried doing a couple of storyboards to help reduce the number of huge pics! LOL Still ended up with tons to share! Here’s Lexi Lou – her attitude poking through in the last shot! collagelexi

Literacy Day Parade 2009

October 30, 2009 – 8:21 pm

At the elementary school instead of focusing on Halloween, admin redirects the focus to literacy. Instead of Halloween costumes, each grade (kindergarten through 3rd grade, I think) chooses a theme from a book. Last year when Nate was in kindergarten, they were animals from Old MacDonald’s Farm. This year featured Ladybugs from The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle. It was a great idea and the costumes looked great! I was fortunate enough to help out in Nate’s classroom yesterday and help assemble them. The kids cut out their own circles for the ladybug spots and did a great job.

This morning the girls and I went to the Literacy Day Parade and watched all the kiddies march. It was a lot of fun and it wasn’t blistery cold like it was last year! Here are some pics from the morning!!

I have quite a few pics of all the different classes but alas, I won’t be posting those since I don’t want parents going apeshit on me for not having permission to post their kids photos here. Sooo, this is Nate’s class. His teacher, Ms. Lambert, is leading the way!
