A New Chapter

Left Photo:  Lexi Left, Maddie right  Right Photo:  Maddie left, Lexi right

It’s hard to believe that we’ve gone from the left photo to the right photo in almost 6 years.

Today we start a new chapter in our lives.  All three children are in school full-time as of today.  8:30am until 3pm.  Every.Single.Day.  Oh good Lord in heaven, I didn’t think it would EVER get here!!  :)   But it has finally arrived.  Today the girls started Kindergarten.  A huge milestone here!!  And we are SO proud of the girls.  They marched right in like they owned the place this morning.  We weren’t sure how Maddie would since she’d voiced a day or two ago that she didn’t want to go to school, she wanted a different job.  LOL  But she was fine!!  Her teacher called tonight to let me know that she did wonderful today!!

For me, today was just an odd day.  After I got back home and Joe headed to work, I was all alone.  All alone in my own dwelling for the first time in 7 years (for more than an hour).  I ran a couple of errands…ALONE.  Went to the grocery store…ALONE.  It was so weird.  I kept looking behind me to see if the girls were with me when of course they weren’t.  Lunch time…more weirdness.  No one but myself to fix lunch for.  I got to eat first…totally odd.  I’m usually sitting down to eat and the kids are finishing up.  The whole day was just weird.  I imagine it’ll take a week or two to get into a new routine…one that only includes me and the dogs.

And not to leave out Natey, he started school yesterday.  He has the same teacher this year that he had last year and that’s made a WORLD of difference for his transition this year.  Last year when he started school, he had a new teacher and a new aide and a new classroom.  LOTS of new things for him all at once.  He’d come home from school and spend an hour+ in his bedroom alone.  Yesterday?  Only 10 minutes.  I was SO glad to see that.  Today, he didn’t even need it. He was more interested in hearing about the girls’ first day.

So here are the rest of our first day photos starting with Natey’s first day yesterday! :)
