If you’re a fan of South Park, you’ll appreciate my title of this post…if not, you’ll be clueless. That’s ok…I’m often clueless.
Over the last few months, my weight loss has kind of halted. I hit a plateau and then the holidays were here and I gained a few pounds. I’m now fairly close to where I was before Christmas but I just cannot seem to get out of my own way these days. It’s frustrating, to put it mildly. But I press on…one day I will hit a healthy weight range for my height. It may take me 2 or 3 years but I WILL get there dammit.
Joe and I discussed maybe joining a gym but that was nixed quite quickly for a couple of reasons. There really isn’t a gym close – the nearest would be at least 30-35 mins away. And really, by the time Joe gets home from work, neither of us feel like driving that far to go to a gym. And then there’s the cost. Most decent gyms are quite pricey and require at least a year contract. So we decided to buy something that we could use here at home…which suits me anyway since I’d rather embarass myself in private. Soooooo, this is what we got…
It’s a Bowflex! It will pretty well pay itself off within a year (if you compare the cost of a gym membership times two over the course of the year). The book comes with all different workouts and what you should do each day and how many reps, etc. I picked out a workout that will hopefully help me the most. It’s a 4 day program, upper body on days 1 & 3 and lower body and abs on days 2 & 4. I did the first day today…oh holy hell. I thought for sure that my ab muscles had evacuated years ago. Low and behold, they have not. How do I know this? Because even though I didn’t do ANY ab muscle exercises today, my abs are sore! LOL
Anyway, if you see me tomorrow and I don’t wave to you…no, I’m not mad at you or ignoring you. I just can’t lift my arms.
