Joey’s New Toy

It’s hard to believe that we’ve been shooting with our Canon 40D for 3 or 4 years already.  We’ve taken at least 50,000-60,000 shots on it over the course of that time.  I know – it’s crazy.

Joe’s been lusting over the Canon 5D Mark II for quite a while now.  Joe doesn’t lust after much…except new photography gear.  And in all honesty, he doesn’t get new stuff that often due to the outrageous cost.  After lots of discussion, we decided now was the time to take the plunge and purchase it.  Joe has several shoots scheduled for this year and with what he’ll make for those shoots, we’ll just about make our money back.  Sooooo, here’s our new baby…

Isn’t she a beauty?  I think we need to name her to make her part of the family.  Cam?  Canny?  Ok, maybe not.  I don’t think Joe would approve anyway. :P

I haven’t had a whole lot of time to play around with it but here are a few shots I took with it today with the 50mm strapped on.  I didn’t think I could love that lens even more but I was wrong.

Nice! It has my DH’s name on it! Maybe we should get it, lol. Well, a girl can dream. I’d love to get a digital SLR, and a husband who knows how to use one(j/k- well, kind of ;) )
