Watch Out 1st Grade, Here Comes Nate!

Yep, it’s that time again – SCHOOL time!  Nate started in Ms. Lambert’s first grade class on Wednesday!   He’s doing great so far and says he loves the new class.  Hopefully it stays that way all year long.  Here are some photos from the first day!!

Nate standing in front of the door.  We take this same pic every year to see how much he’s grown from year to year.

And this is a preview of what’s to come next!  We took portraits of the kids last weekend and with the craziness of the first week of school, I haven’t had the chance to post them.  This was one of my favorites of the bunch!!

August 21, 2009

There hasn’t been too much happening on the homefront this week.  It’s hot and humid!  It’s been in the 90’s plus super high humidity and it’s been miserable.  Air conditioners, you ask?  Yeah, we’ve had such a mild summer that we haven’t put the air conditioners in.  And really, what’s the point for a month or less?  We just suffered through the week, hanging in the basement as much as possible since it’s cooler down there.

Today was the first day it was overcast enough for everyone to go out.  Oh yeah, did I mention that the girls have the 5ths disease rash?  Yep, Maddie started last week with it and Lexi got it a couple of days ago.  Since the rash gets worse with sun exposure, we’ve been trying to stay inside as much as possible.  So here are some pics from today…oh and Nate was SO not into photos today and wouldn’t even look at me!  So the girls only today!

You can see the red lacey rash on Lexi’s face.  She was very willing to sit for pics though! :)

And Maddie is ALWAYS willing to pose!

Summer Family Photos 2009 – New Castle, NH & Hampton, NH

Once again, it’s time for the Ledvina summer family photos!  Every year we try to take family photos during the summer and then at Christmas.  Occasionally, we’ll get in more than that but those are my 2 requirements.  Growing up we never had family photos taken.  I think my mom has exactly one family photo and I was probably 10 or so and my brother about 5.  No more family photos were taken until my wedding!!  So I’ve made it a priority to take them every year.

I really love summer photos on the beach – Joe feels like the same old family photos on the beach year after year is boring.  So we compromised.  Instead of going to York Beach in Maine, he scoured the internet (not really it only took a couple of minutes) and found New Castle, NH.  It’s a state owned park and has a small little beach.  You have to pay to get in there but it was worth the measely $7!  There’s a huge playground as well as the beach, which is COVERED in these cute little shells!!

After spending a few hours in New Castle, we headed to Hampton where we take yearly photos on the seawall there, something we’ve done since Nate was a year old.  I LOVE the seawall pics and being able to compare them year after year.  :)   This is one tradition I absolutely refuse to negotiate on with Joey.  :P

Anyway, here’s a few of our photos.  :)

This was one of our favorite family photos of the day.  Due to the harsh sun, it was nearly impossible to get the exposure perfect but I think Joe did a great job!

This is my favorite family shot of the day!  But it’s not a great closeup of all of us.  I still love it though!  May be using this one for Christmas cards!

While it looks like Natey has his eyes closed, they’re not…he’s just looking further down.  Either way, STILL love the perspective of this shot!
