Starsky: Day 2

We’ve had a great first full day with Starsky!  He’s very smart and 100% puppy!  He’s either eating, sleeping or trying to chew it!!  And we just love him!!

Yesterday, he was a bit subdued and didn’t do a lot of playing and was a bit quiet.  That all changed today.  He and Max have been in a few scuffles although Starsky thinks Max is just playing when in reality, Max wants to tear him up! LOL  But Max realizes that Starsky could take him out in one false swoop of his big ol’ paw!!  Since Starsky has been loosening up some, he’s also doing a lot of nibbling on hands and has an obsession with toes.  So the kids have been a little skittish around him because they have a hard time keeping him away.  Although Nate is still doing much better with him than I anticipated, he’s also a little scared of him today and I really think it’s because he nibbled on Nate’s toes this morning.  Poor kid, I tried explaining to him that Starsky is just a baby and likes to chew on things but I don’t think he understands.

Oh and last night went much better than I expected.  We put him in the crate around 10pm and then we went straight to bed.  He (and Max, who typically doesn’t bark) barked for 25 minutes and then was quiet the rest of the night.  We didn’t hear another peep out of him until this morning at 5:30 when the kids got up.

And some more pics!

Starsky was SO not interested in playing with the toy until Max wanted to play!

Max barking at Starsky!  What you can’t see is that Starsky was barking right back at him!

Such a handsome boy!

His newest game – chewing on his new tags!!

Taking a break from playing with his toy.

Tonight he was all tuckered out!

Look at that pink puppy skin!  He played hard today!

Welcome Home Starsky!

It’s been a long couple weeks of waiting but today was the day!  Today we brought Starsky to his forever home!  Joe surprised us by leaving early from work and was home with Starsky before 2pm!  The girls were ecstatic, as were Mommy and Daddy!

He is the most adorable, people loving dog I have ever met!  He’s all about being with the people!  He’s awesome with the kids…and the kids, NATE INCLUDED, love him!

So I had about 15 minutes to play with Starsky before I had to go and pick up Nate from school.  When Nate got in the car, I told him that Daddy was already home and that he’d brought Starsky.  I asked him if he was ready to see the doggy and he said yes!  I wasn’t convinced.  But as soon as he got out of the car at home, he went running over to the pup and showed no apprehension and petted him and called him by name.  HUGE surprise there!  I figured maybe over time he’d adjust but I never guessed that he’d love him from the start!!

As for Max, he wasn’t too pleased…for about 2 minutes.  And then he was fine.  They even played a little bit together!

I know you’re all dying for pics, so I’ll get to that right now!  Be prepared in the following days to be bombarded with puppy pics.  This dog is absolutely awesome and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect fit into our house.  He’s been doing great with the potty training too!  ;)

So without further ado, meet Starsky!

New Dresses

Grandma Sandy came through with more dresses for the girls a month or so ago.  They’re a little shorter than what I like so it doesn’t look like they’ll be usable for next year.  They’re made of this terry material and are really soft!!

Maddie’s in the blue and was much more cooperative, which is why there are so many of her and only 2 of Lexi.  Lexi was not in the picture taking mood that day!!
