My Bio & Stuff

The pressure to come up with something witty here is tremendous! Since I'm fresh out of witty, I'll just recap. I was born in 1977 in a rural town in Michigan. Ok, maybe I won't go back that far. I was born in 1977 and I did grow up in a rural town in Michigan. I met Joey on the internet (gasp!) in 1997 and I moved to New England in 1998. We were married in 1999 in the same small town where I grew up.

Then in 2003, we were happy to welcome our first born heathen, oh I mean child, into our lives. Nathaniel, for those who are truly new here, was diagnosed with PDD-NOS (on the Autism spectrum) at age 2. He's had a challenging start to his short life but he's making huge strides, most of which you can read about here.

Then in 2004, after winning a buy-one-get-one-free contest, we brought home twin baby girls! Madison and Alexis are very typical little girls and they bring tons of fun and lots of drama to our life. Again, you can read all about it here!

Besides being a super fantastic wife (just ask me, I'll tell you!) and the best mother in the world (again, just ask me!), I also enjoy reading, photography, scrapbooking, House, Bones, Ugly Betty, baking and...well I'm sure there's more but that will do for now!

Beautiful Day

Joe and I took the kids to Keene State for a photo shoot…one where Joe and I both took pics.  These are my photos – you can check out Joe’s on his Ledvina Photography Blog!  Nate wasn’t too interested since Joe had taken him last weekend to do the same thing so it was basically just the girls.  I only got a couple of Lexi because every time I tried to take her pic she said to me “I want DADDY to take my picture…NOT you!”  Sooo I have more of Maddie!

My favorite shot of the day…

Impromtu Photo Shoot

For the last week, we’ve had the most bizarre weather.  It goes from being clear to snowing to raining to icing.  Yesterday morning was no exception.  We woke up to 3-4 more inches of snow to contend with and then less than an hour before having to take the girls to dance, it started snowing/icing.  So Joe offered to drive us (usually I take the girls by myself) so I took him up on it.  He took the opportunity to bring along the camera.  While I had the girls at dance, he took Nate to Keene State and took some photos.  These pics are my new favorites of Nate.  I commented on my last post that it’s so hard to get a nice natural smile out of him so I was beyond thrilled when I saw how well Joe had done!!  So all props go to him for taking these gorgeous photos!  (I did do all the post processing though! :P )

Oh and while I LOVE the new blog layout for photos (one large photo with thumbmails below), there are some instances where I’ll still be posting picture by picture.  It takes much longer to load but it’s SO worth the wait to see them all in a larger size.  So bear with the loading time…

Natural Smiles

Out of my 3 beautiful children, only one will give me a natural smile almost any time I ask for a photo.

This child I can always count on to give me a real smile…

The other two…not so much.  Good lord, just look at them…

Ok, so maybe this one does occasionally give me a smile that’s not quite natural…
